Tucson Gem Show: Where Every Gemstone Begins Its Story

Unlike a traditional trade fair held in a single exhibition hall, the Tucson Gem Show spreads across the entire city. More than 60 individual shows take place simultaneously in convention centers, hotels, exhibition tents, warehouses, and even motel rooms. Every corner of Tucson becomes part of a unique global marketplace dedicated entirely to natural gemstones, minerals, fossils, jewelry, crystals, and rare treasures from around the world.

From museum-quality mineral specimens and rough crystals to perfectly cut gemstones and artisan jewelry, the variety is simply impossible to describe until you experience it yourself.

Some of my favorite destinations include the prestigious AGTA GemFair™, the vibrant Pueblo Gem & Mineral Show, the famous 22nd Street Show, and many smaller exhibitions where hidden treasures often appear unexpectedly.

When selecting gemstones for my jewelry, I never buy simply because a stone is beautiful.

I search for gemstones with personality.

Some catch my eye immediately with their unusual colors, while others reveal extraordinary inclusions, textures, or natural patterns that make each piece completely unique. Sometimes I spend hours comparing dozens of stones before finding the one that feels right.

One of the greatest parts of Tucson is reconnecting with trusted suppliers I've worked with for years.

Many are small family businesses who have dedicated generations to mining, cutting, or trading gemstones. These personal relationships allow me to understand not only where each stone comes from, but also the story behind it.

Every conversation brings new ideas, new discoveries, and often gemstones I've never seen before.
